I've got a super well-pressed version that's completely silent. I'd definitely say go for it, this is a steal at this price!
This pressing is absolutely amazing, with guitars that are crisp and punchy and Joey's vocals really standing out. It's a tad weak in the bass department, but that's just a problem with the original recording. It's a real bummer because Dee Dee's bass work is fantastic and it really should be given its due.
This re-release packs a powerful punch, and I must say, I was genuinely surprised to find that both 12-inch records are colored. The main focus here is clearly on capturing the live music experience, and they've nailed it with a fantastic balance. The only minor issue is that the audience noise in the background sometimes sounds a bit digitally compressed. But don't worry, it's only noticeable a few times, for just a couple of seconds each. Apart from that, it's full-throttle Ramones all the way, no time to catch your breath!
INCREDIBLE REISSUE!!! If you're planning to purchase just one Ramones record, make it this one. This might just be the greatest live album by any band, ever. A full concert spread across 2 LP's with the guys delivering their signature sound - loud, speedy rock 'n' roll like only they can. Starting with Rockaway Beach and ending with We're A Happy Family, they only ease up a bit for Here Today, Gone Tomorrow. Even after all these years, the raw energy and adrenaline of a Ramones show still blows your mind.
Live performances are the only way I truly appreciate the Ramones, but this recording lacks bass. It's almost as if the bass amp was switched off. Apart from that, it's an amazing album.
