Without a doubt, this stands among the greatest rock albums of all time. Use Your Illusion I & II are absolute masterpieces. This Europian (Germany) version boasts fantastic sound quality, letting you fully appreciate the music. The audio is warm, perfectly balanced, and crisp. The guitars and drums are recorded brilliantly. Even Axel's vocals sound great here.
Got a copy but disc 1 ain't working. If anyone's got a disc 1 they wanna sell, hit me up!
Don't be tricked by all the fuss about this release being MP3s on vinyl. Alright, they took the audio from a digital version of the master tape, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is hands down the best way to enjoy this album. The sound is crisp and clean, and there's no annoying noise between songs. I'd say go for this pressing if you have the chance. And yeah, that reissue of Use Your Illusion 2 is pretty amazing too.
Honestly impressed with this press, genuinely happy with it and it's everywhere so no reason not to get it! The mix has always been a bit irritating since the rhythm guitar (Stradlin) is turned down, still hoping for a remaster to fix this but considering Stradlin's not in the reunited band, I'm not getting my hopes up. Apart from that, the sound is really great. Double Talkin' Jive, Don't Damn Me, Right Next Door to Hell and Dead Horse are standout tracks and the album flows much better than the 2nd Illusion, even Back of Bitch is somewhat saved by its fantastic lead guitar work. The album's finale, Coma, is epic in every way and the last 3 minutes are nearly rock perfection. Overall, this is a really underrated album and a must-have for any classic rock enthusiast. P.S. - maybe Appetite was (a tad) but this album isn't glam at all (Think About You comes to mind). Though Stradlin's Stonsey/Aerosmith influence is quite noticeable, there are hints of punk metal and hard rock throughout.
Possibly the finest in the "The Illusion" series. Own it on CD, but managed to snag this fresh '180 gram' pressing for roughly 15 euros.
