The audio quality is excellent. It's quiet and clear. The bass is pretty good for a Doors album. The mids are well-balanced. Jim Morrison's voice doesn't sound squashed, though I can't tell if it's from a digital or analog source. The packaging is fantastic. The cardboard is thicker and the prints are bright and realistic. This was the only album I didn't have on vinyl, so I'm glad to complete my Doors collection. For the cost, I'd recomend it.
Wondering - does every one of these come with those light, flat cardboard sleeves? I just unboxed my copy and the cover doesn't have that hefty feel or glossy finish that all my other Doors AP pressings have. It kinda feels like a regular reissue, not quite part of the AP collection. Just noticin', though, the records themselves sound freakin' amazing. It's like Morrison's right there in front of you, it'll blow your mind for sure!
Robby and John were the last ones left...Sharp and intense in their early days, they shifted to a more relaxed, sweeter sound on the album...They were dealing with all sorts of personal struggles during that time...Still, Morrison's unique voice shines on every track...They're my second favorite band after the Fab Four in my rankings...Living in LA, I knew them when they were just starting out with high school shows and those cheesy Southland music fests...and then BOOM! They had "Light My Fire" and they took off...They shone brightly for just a brief moment, but what's left on VINYL is pure classic rock...
Sounds real good, and super easy to find for a bargain price! Definitely give it a go! :)
The bass on this record is fantastic. Jim's vocals sound amazing too. Great pressing!
