In your version, the audio quality on the second disc is distinctly superior to the first one. You examined the runout etchings, and here's what you found: Disc 2: 88697906421-C WG/NRP ⓤ Disc 1: 88697906421-A-re-1 WG/NRP ⓤ That "-re" on Disc 1 typically indicates a reissue or repress, suggesting it's a later pressing. The "-C" on Disc 2, lacking the "-re," probably signifies an earlier or original batch. It's quite usual for discs in a set to originate from different pressing runs, particularly with anniversary reissues. Consequently, the sound can differ due to factors like mastering, vinyl quality, or even storage conditions.
Fantastic album and excellent pressing. The bass is rich and the soundstage depth is really impressive for a digital source. No harshness on my highly detailed system, which is a great plus.
Unboxed mine today, absolutely stunning packaging and I'm really digging the extra back cover. That little note was a sweet addition, though I'd have loved real handwritten signatures rather than digital ones. No trouble taking the LPs out. I've got the VMP version as well and I'm happy to have both.
Am I the only one noticing the VMP pressing sounds superior? This one's got loads of pops and clicks. Plus, my cover came all ripped. Has this happened to anyone else too?
Gorgeous in both appearance and sound, this is surely the ultimate version out there.
