Top of my All Time faves - Still an awesome sound - A 'Must Have' for any Rock 'n Roll enthusiast
School's Out" falls short after the brilliance of Alice Cooper's "Killer" album. The band, already a spoof, turns into a parody of their own parody. It was clever to weave "My Favorite Things" into "Halo of Flies". However, Alice tackling "The Jets" from "West Side Story" grows old quickly. Most of the album feels like filler to me, except for the title track "School's Out", which rightly became a hit, though it's not as enjoyable as "Under My Wheels". Alice was undoubtedly a marketing mastermind. The album gained media attention due to the supposedly 'dangerously' flammable panties included in the original pressings. Alice would grab more headlines with his next record, "Billion Dollar Babies", when the oversized dollar was seen as a potential violation of the U.S. currency system!Still, "School's Out" is a rather weak album, particularly following their masterpiece "Killer". Not a must-have Alice Cooper record.
I'm not happy that the black inner sleeves aren't poly lined! That's my only complaint.
This here is a vinyl collection with 3 records. It's missing an update for that 3rd vinyl. The CD version has 2 discs.
This is fantastic! I once owned a mid-70s club model, so that's what I'm comparing it to, but this one is vibrant, clear, and has a full-bodied sound. The bass is impressive too.
