This album is fantastic, both in terms of the music and the pressing quality - it's incredibly dynamic and the bass is spot on. It's definitely money well spent.
After PUSH THE BUTTON, I kind of lost touch with the Chemical Brothers, but I gave them another shot with NO GEOGRAPHY. The album kicks off with “Eve of Destruction,” which has that wobbly, eclectic synth-pop feel, but it didn't grab me right away. Thankfully, “Bango” picks things up with its percussive energy, even if it does take a few trips into madness. Overall, the album feels like a trip down memory lane. The title track reminds me of an Orbital song before the heavy beat kicks in. “Got to Keep On” brings that throwback party vibe, serving up a slice of joyous house music, while “Gravity Drops” has that futuristic Detroit edge. “The Universe Sent Me” starts off dreamy with a simple guitar loop, but then it dives into big room effects. “We’ve Got to Try” adds an interesting twist with its acid elements against the chunky beats, and “Free Yourself” is like a ‘kitchen sink’ track. “MAH” is all about the build-up, and “Catch Me I’m Falling” wraps things up in a more mellow but still busy way. It's a nice mix of genres here.
The Chemical Brothers' newest album, 'No Geography', dropped last year. I'd say it's a bit stronger than 'Born in the Echoes', which I found a tad weaker compared to their other work. 'The Universe Sent Me' is absolutely killer, in my opinion. 'Eve Of Destruction', 'Bango', and 'MAH' are also top-notch tracks. A+ for sure.
Nothing to gripe about with the pressing quality. It sounds FANTASTIC! The vinyl is spotless, flat, and quiet. Yet another fantastic album from the Chemical Brothers. These guys just keep delivering sonic awesomeness! I'm a huge fan. The cover art is super cool. Can't wait for more!
Incredible album, I've never been this shocked by one of their releases since "we are the night". It's got that classic Chemical Brothers vibe, blending funk, rock, chaotic techno synths and gorgeous vocals. It's now my all-time favorite, possibly their greatest!
