The volume on this pressing is a tad low, and it feels like some tracks are a bit squashed and lacking in depth.
Brandi C has put together an amazing set of songs! This is an album I can enjoy from start to finish without wanting to switch to anything else. It's practically a masterpiece! The only tiny issue for me is the production, which feels a bit muddled. But that's a minor gripe because these tracks are pure gold.
I'm puzzled by the negative reviews for this. It sounds rich and vibrant to me, and I'd suggest it to everyone. Perhaps my setup is fantastic or I'm not great at picking out flaws. Regardless, I'm rating this 5 stars.
The songs on this album are absolutely amazing. However, the mastering and/or mixing is just awful. There's no depth to the sound, it's as flat as a board, and there's no dynamics at all. It's a shame to say this because Brandi Carlile is an incredible singer and songwriter, but this album just doesn't sound good on vinyl. Like I said earlier, there's no bass, no dynamics, and it's all squashed down to the point where it's boring to listen to. She really deserves better than this!
This album is absolutely amazing, I'm obsessed! The quality of the pressing is top-notch, and the music itself is a true masterpiece in my opinion. I can't stop playing it, it's always on repeat :)
