This is an incredibly strong and bold mix that perfectly suits Floyd's most "hard-rocking" album, featuring deep, resonant bass and sparkling highs, with not a hint of distortion. It's also incredibly quiet - even quieter than some of the modern albums in my collection. Without a doubt, this is the best I've ever heard this record sound on any format.
This record's fidelity is so precise, it's like a surgeon's work! The guitars cut through with the sharpness of a scalpel, and every detail is as clear as crystal. The bass is well-balanced, though not as massive as DSotM. It's an outstanding sounding pressing. [Tech specs in my profile]
I assumed my copy was from the 2011 release until I spotted the missing CBS Sony stereo logo on the corner -- that's what brought me here. This is a great pressing with a distinctive compression on the drums and bass throughout Sheep & Dogs, actually the entire album, which is absolutely mind-blowing with headphones. I stumbled upon my copy at some random record shop in godforsaken Indiana, so if you manage to find this one, I'd definitely say go for it.
