Once again, this Band has delivered a fantastic release. I must admit, I was a tad concerned when I first heard this album on Qobuz, as the sound quality was quite underwhelming—it came across as rather flat and squashed. However, I'm thrilled to report that the vinyl version is a significant improvement. The audio is punchy and well-balanced, with the mids and highs complementing each other nicely, although a bit more brightness at the top end would be welcome. The soundstage isn't the most expansive, but it's certainly satisfactory. The vinyl record itself is pleasingly flat and arrived in good condition. The pressing quality is excellent, with a remarkably low noise floor. My only complaint, once again, is those annoying paper innersleeves that Kscope includes with the vinyl. It's truly unforgivable at this price point—I shelled out €48 for this album. Equipment used for listening: Dr. Feickert Volare turntable paired with an Auris A9 arm, Phasemation PP-200 MC cartridge, and a Lehmann Silver Cube phono preamp.
Check it out, you can still find it on tesseracts site! Blah blah and more words
The second disc on my copy is quite disappointing. It's filled with tiny bubbles and flaws in the vinyl that create clicks, pops, and other surface noise throughout both sides. It's a shame because the first disc sounds fantastic and the album is incredible. This isn't the first time I've encountered issues with a Kscope release. Their quality control seems to be slipping.
I'm just not happy with how thin this pressing is!! It should've been an 180g audiophile release, not this 100-120g flimsy thing. The sound is good, but I expected better quality, especially from a band that's so proud of their production.
Seriously, this record is among the top in my collection for both sound and appearance, it's a true masterpiece.
