Stunning blue transparent color repress of that iconic City Pop cult classic. Sound quality is flawless, crisp, and pristine with zero surface noise. It would've been awesome to have 'Remember Summer Days' included, but even without it, the original pressing is fantastic!
This album is a true city pop masterpiece, showcasing the magical chemistry between Anri and Toshiki Kadomatsu. Their third collaboration truly shines, with Anri stepping into her own as a pop diva and Toshiki delivering some of his career's finest songwriting. The remake of Cat's Eye is a breath of fresh air compared to the anime version, and Tetsuji Hayashi's music combined with Toshiki's top-notch compositions create an unforgettable listening experience. Jun Sato and Yurie Kokubu also contribute to this fantastic work. While opinions may vary on the best track, "Stay By Me" stands out to me with its impeccable funk timing and powerful vocals. I challenge anyone to resist dancing to it. It's no surprise this was Anri's first album to top the Oricon charts. The trendsetting vaporwave font, likely inspired by the popular 80's TV show "Miami Vice," complements the unbeatable summer retro aesthetic. Be sure to grab a copy with the rare calendar for the ultimate effect.
This album is absolutely fantastic and a must-own for any city pop fan. That said, my copy from this re-release has some noticeable IGD. But apart from that, the tracks on the outer groove sound pretty decent.
I gotta say, this album is absolutely amazing! I'm not sure if it's just me, but sometimes my copy of the record sounds a bit off, with her voice lacking that usual warmth and depth when compared to the instrumentals. Has anyone else picked up on this?
Man, this record is killer! The bass hits hard, and the highs are spot on. The soundstage is out of this world! It's nearly 30 years old, but this pressing sounds brand new.
