Generally speaking, often missed on many Top 50 Jazz LP lists, yet it shouldn't be dismissed. The Scene Changes is a masterpiece in a league of its own. Hands down, my top pick from the incredible Bud Powell.
This re-release sounds fantastic. If you're thinking about getting it used, it's a top-notch version of the record. Really punchy. My copy has a pleasant low noise level. I'd say it's akin to a contemporary Blue Note Classic in terms of quality.
I just grabbed my copy at the neighborhood shop! It sounds phenomenal, I could devour this sound with a fork)! I'd definitely suggest it.
Bud Powell's piano skills are out of this world and the audio quality is top-notch, just like the packaging (cover, etc.) - absolutely love it!!
I've got a version of this that's pretty much the same as what's here, but it doesn't have the 9M and both sides are DG. It's got P, inc, R, 43 w 61st. Not entirely sure if that's enough for a new listing, but it's a bit of a strange mix compared to this one (both DG but missing the 9M).
