The Princess Bride soundtrack is the one I'd love to see reimagined the most. This movie is forever classic, but its score feels oddly tied to the 80s. "Storybook Love" is gorgeous and gives me all the nostalgic vibes, but there's an overuse of synth-heavy orchestral tracks that seem super cheesy by today's standards. ("The Cliffs of Insanity," "The Fireswamp," and "Revenge" are the worst offenders.) I'd love to know how much more powerful these scenes could be with real orchestral versions. Still, it's a moving soundtrack overall, and those romantic tracks alone make it worth it, as they're just perfect for their time.
If I were to re-record any soundtrack, The Princess Bride would be at the top of my list. This movie is timeless, but its soundtrack feels oddly stuck in the 1980s. The "Storybook Love" theme is gorgeous and brings back all sorts of nostalgic feelings for me. However, there are too many orchestral pieces that rely heavily on synthesizers, which now seem quite cheesy. ("The Cliffs of Insanity," "The Fireswamp," and "Revenge" are the worst offenders.) I'd love to know how much more powerful these scenes would be with real orchestral versions of these tracks. Even so, it's a moving soundtrack overall and absolutely worth it for those few romantic pieces that are just perfect for their era.
