The mastering on this is top-notch, absolutely love it. I'm still waiting for a new cart I ordered but through a Schiit Mani and a lame ATN3600 it sounds fantastic. Every frequency range is incredibly well defined, every instrument is stunningly detailed, I'm obsessed with it.
I'm not one to typically purchase tapes. However, this one's audio quality is fantastic.
Maybe it's just the copy I got, but right out the package and after cleaning, there's a lot of hiss in parts and what seems like scratches on sides A and D. I've cleaned it really good and the noise is still there, so it's gotta be an issue with this pressing. Other than that, it sounds alright, might have to grab another copy.
i'm thinking the low ratings might be due to its high resale price..? cause it's absolutely amazing for a live album. couldn't be happier with my purchase at the price i snagged it for. 5/5 as for the pixelated artwork, it's not *that* terrible. i do like the shiny black raised bits on it. cool detail. update: side D has a bunch of pops, but hey, it's just stage chatter. other than that, it's all good.
This record is one of the finest sounding additions to my collection. It's a real shame that the final side is packed with their awkward humor that hasn't been amusing for over two decades.
