Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
I absolutely adore this album. But of course I absolutely adore the who. It includes a really neat booklet. I'm a total fan of those things.
This copy I've got features the gold foil "promotional" marking. It's got a fantastic sound, really powerful.
I didn't get the postcard with this LP release.
This album features an amazing soundtrack with some of the Who's most popular tracks. The Malaysian pressing truly lives up to its reputation for high-quality vinyl and superb sound.
THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT does an amazing job of gathering some of The Who's most famous tunes in lesser-known renditions, primarily sourced from live shows across the years. The tracks featured cover their entire career up to that point, from 1965 to 1978. Highlights encompass a phenomenal version of "My Generation" from the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, a different mix of "Long Live Rock", three tracks from TOMMY taken from their Woodstock set, and above all, arguably their greatest live performance ever captured: "A Quick One, While He's Away" from the Rock & Roll Circus concert film. Conversely, it's somewhat disheartening to listen to the newly recorded versions of "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" from 1978, it's glaringly apparent when hearing Moon's drumming that his abilities were significantly reduced, he sounds feeble and lethargic, lacking the potent and frenzied energy he once had in abundance. Sound quality fluctuates based on the source material, but this pressing is commendable throughout, especially on the 1970's content. My copy plays smooth and clear with just a hint of occasional faint surface noise.
