I haven't had the chance to hear other pressings on vinyl, only some CD versions. But I was a bit let down by this MOFI release. Playing it on my hi-fi system, it lacks details and dynamics. Sure, the lows, mids, and highs are pretty well balanced, but it's not quite up to par. Sadly, I can't recommend it. No more than 3 stars out of 5.
When I first bought this cassette brand new, I was pretty disappointed. Where did Twisted Sister go? They used to be an awesome metal band, but now they've gone soft, just like Motley Crue with their 'Theatre of Pain'...still don't have that one...but...I caught their live shows twice, once before this album and during this tour. Man, those live performances were way more powerful. That said, the album grew on me, and now I can enjoy it. But let's be real, it's still not metal...in my opinion. Oh, and the photos of this tape are terrible, clearly taken by someone who kept it in their car or garage...LOL. Mine looks like it just came out of the wrapper. LOL.

Without a doubt, this is one of my top MFSL picks from recent years... my copy is a tad off-center, which is a bit of a letdown for the cost. But it's not noticeable in the listening experience... the mastering is superb and the dynamics are really impressive (given that it's a 2020 release). If you're a fan of Stay Hungry and looking for a great version: this is the one to grab.
