Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Captured during several sessions in fall 1968, SOUL SONG shines with Stanley Turrentine taking center stage, while Scott steps back a bit on some tracks in this smooth and soulful collection. "Think", "When A Man Loves A Woman", and the namesake track truly shine. This 1969 pressing offers decent sound quality, with good bass and clear percussion, though the soundstage feels a tad tight and confined. My copy plays smoothly with minimal surface noise.
