Gorgeous, well-balanced audio throughout the entire range, yet another fantastic Japanese treasure!
Prior to the iconic "Hotel California", there was "One of These Nights". Any album rock enthusiast would know every track on this masterfully crafted album, which served as a crucial step leading to their chart-topping success with "Eagles – Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975", one of the best-selling records alongside Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors". This particular pressing, an early one that I believe isn't an exact Terre Haute pressing, is rich and dynamic, with minimal surface noise, IGD, or fill. There's a bit of hiss in Randy Meisner's "Take it to the Limit" when the vocal harmonies push the boundaries of the grooves, but overall, this is a clean pressing, likely distributed before the numerous repressings began. This record has been pressed over 500 times in various formats, but this pressing is as good as it gets. Just like many records from the '70s, finding used copies is becoming increasingly difficult. So, if you come across one of these early pressings, I'd grab it before the only option left is to buy one of the pricey represses or remasters currently on the market.
Five stars for the sound quality… I’ve had so many copies of this LP. MFSL really delivered with this one. It’s always been my favorite Eagles album, so I’m super happy with this pressing. The packaging is fantastic too. The box set is gorgeous and it’s definitely a keeper for life!
MoFi, you've totally nailed it with this one! It's absolutely incredible!!!!
After checking out the comments here, I was a bit worried and even thought about not buying the LP. But once I played it on my irrigation RP8, the BW800D started to reveal a warm and really enjoyable sound. I haven't had a chance to compare it with other versions, but this one is fantastic for any audiophila collection.
