This isn't the "dead-quiet" audiophile vinyl you'd expect, and I'm definitely noticing more hissing in the vocals than I'd prefer. But hey, great job mastering a live album! The performance is fantastic, and the lineup of musicians is amazing. It's definitely worth a listen. Maybe grab the FLAC too.
Fantastic record pressing. Like others have mentioned, the only downside for me is those awful paper inner sleeves. But once I gave it a good clean, this turned out to be a super clean and quiet pressing. While it might not get as much playtime as my original Dan albums, it's a great tribute to Walter. Highly recommend it.
Incredible. An amazing live performance, in my view. The song selection, arrangements, and overall performances were superb, and the mixing/recording is spot on. Plus, Pallas in Germany did a fantastic job with the pressing… the vinyl is super quiet, flat, and has minimal noise. The music itself is outstanding too: I particularly adore the subtle chord changes in parts of Rikki Don’t Lose That Number. It would’ve been awesome to have Deacon Blues in the set and a gatefold cover, as another reviewer pointed out, but hey… this is still an outstanding release, a must-have for any Steely Dan enthusiast, and well worth every cent.
Decent, but not amazing! The sound quality is GOOD, however, it's a bit over-compressed (DR = 10 db). The track selection is questionable, and Fagen's vocals are a tad thin (age is catching up). The vibe and sound are akin to a cozy little club.
Excellent recording with top-notch quality, a must-have for any SD enthusiast. The cover and packaging could use a bit more creativity. As mentioned in other reviews, Bernie Grundman did an amazing job with the mastering.
