Awesome sounding record! Didn't realize it was clear vinyl when I purchased it but hey, it looks pretty cool!
PSB demonstrates their outstanding expertise with this album. I hadn't realized it earlier, but reflecting back, I genuinely appreciate all their albums, not just their powerful starts, but also their subsequent work right up to this newest release, which underscores their unwavering dedication. Many thanks for that. It's rare to find artists or bands that can match this consistency. The pressing is superb, the record lies flat, plays smoothly, and there's no distortion (unless I'm mistaken, as with all the records I've had released). The sound is flawless, the cover appears cheap at first sight, but it's actually a high-quality cover made from thick paper, it's minimalist, and I'm really fond of it. I highly recommend it. Enjoy. Played on: Technics SL-100C, Ortofon Concorde Music Bronze, Rega Fono MM MK5, Technics SU-G700M2, Yamaha NS-777, Vinyl Cleaner Pro-Ject VC-E
This is a fantastic triple LP, with the demo versions being particularly impressive. However, I do have one issue - the Bonus LP would have been even better if it had included some of the B-sides from the CD singles of this album. They could have at least added eight tracks, like 'Beauty Has Laid Siege To The City'...
I'm really into this album, but the clear vinyl's sound quality is terrible! It's way worse than the Apple Music version!
The LP and the Demos disc sound fantastic, with a calm and uncluttered audio profile. However, the 45RPM EP is quite loud (at least to my ears) and seems to have a distinct mastering approach. I'm fond of the tracks, with the exception of "Miserere" – it's definitely not my cup of tea. The real gem for me is the "demos" LP. I anticipated enjoying the demos more than the final versions, and I was delightfully surprised! The sound quality is excellent, and it reminded me of the "older" PSB material, which will forever hold a special place in my heart (not that their later work isn't good – I enjoy most of their recent music, but I grew up with their early songs, so that era's music has forever shaped my emotions and nostalgia). If only they released the demos for all their latest albums (on vinyl, of course – I haven't bought CDs in ages and downloading files just isn't my thing), I'd snatch them up instantly! It's always a treat to hear their raw musical creations before producers and remixers get involved... The vinyl pressings of my copy are flat and centered, with perfect labels and no defects. The packaging design is appealing, BUT not very practical. The inner sleeves are small and narrow, so using a Japan-style antistatic sleeve to protect the record will leave the top part exposed, making it tricky to slide it back into the triple-pack. Also, if you want to protect the cover with a transparent outer sleeve, you'll have to slide out the entire package every time you want to play the records, which can become a hassle when taking them out and putting them back. I'm pretty confident that both the outer and inner sleeves will wear out or get damaged within a short time... There should definitely be more SPACE for the records in the overall packaging. The lyric insert is crammed inside the cover, and if you're not EXTREMELY careful, it will likely get torn or damaged while you pull out or slide back in the record...
