I gotta say, this is among my top modern jazz albums. Having had it on CD, I can confidently vouch for this vinyl release. The sound separation is fantastic. The bass and piano truly shine. The soundstage might not be ultra-wide, but then again, it's not that broad on the CD either. It's got a realistic, intimate feel. Perfect tunes for late nights or a gloomy afternoon. It's a bummer that a place like RTI or ORP didn't press this, as it's not as quiet as some of the top-notch jazz titles from Analogue Productions and OJC, but hey, the music is what really counts, and this is a modern-day masterpiece. The track "En la Orilla del Mundo (At the Edge of the World)" alone is worth it. These days, it's tough to find this pressing for under $50 in the US with tax and shipping, but it's still worth every penny. Way better than the original pressing with gatefold. 6 stars for the music, 4 stars for the pressing.
I must say, this is among my top modern jazz albums. Having previously owned it on CD, I can confidently endorse this vinyl edition. The sound separation is fantastic. The bass and piano truly shine. While the soundstage isn't incredibly wide, it's not much broader on the CD either. It's incredibly lifelike and feels so intimate. Perfect tunes for late-night listening or a dreary afternoon.
