I'm absolutely blown away by how fantastic this 1975 album sounds, and the incredible job this pressing does in capturing that original recording is truly commendable; Columbia Records definitely knew what they were doing back in the day. If you manage to get your hands on a clean copy, you're in for an absolute auditory delight.
The audio quality is just as impressive as you'd hope, with Herbie Hancock delivering his signature brilliance and Speakers Corner maintaining their top-notch standards... I'd love to see them re-release some more of Herbie's 70s albums, like 'Thrust' and 'Mwandishi' would be a dream.
Amazing audio and the dynamic range is top-notch at 13. You gotta have it. A true jazz funk masterpiece. Have fun!
As a newcomer to Speakers Corner, I must admit, this pressing exceeded my expectations and I'm definitely hooked. No pops, clicks, or any unwanted noise here. Plus, this record was perfectly flat, unlike many of my recent MOFI buys.
This album is a true gem, taking you on an invigorating (Hang Up Your Hang Ups, The Traitor, Heartbeat) and relaxed (Sun Touch, Bubbles, Steppin' In It) experimental / minimal / instrumental journey through 70s funk-jazz. Herbie Hancock at his peak! Warm, giving, multi-talented musicians...
