Rapidly climbing to the top of my list. The recording is impressively good, with a cozy sound. Excellent quality on remarkably quiet vinyl. Definitely worth tracking down.
Excellent quality. Not just another quick RSD cash grab, thankfully. The sound is fantastic and it's very quiet. No distortion from the inner groove. It comes with a poly lined inner sleeve and a heavy disc. Highly recommended.
This album sounds amazing, though the EQ does put Desmond’s sax a bit too much in the forefront, which can make Brubeck’s piano seem a tad overshadowed during their solo swaps. But apart from that, it's an incredible performance with the bass and drums really shining. One of the most enjoyable jazz groups around, they truly know how to support each other throughout every track.
The Brubeck crew did an awesome job! The drum sounds are incredible! Excellent recording, fantastic details, and superb instrument separation.
This is an incredible album with outstanding audio quality, featuring some of the finest live recordings of the legendary Brubeck Quartet. It includes two tracks that have never been recorded or released elsewhere by Brubeck (Multnomah Blues and When the Saints Go Marching In). Brubeck, Paul Desmond, Joe Morello, and Eugene Wright are at the top of their game in these performances, offering a fantastic glimpse into the brilliant counterpoint that Brubeck and Desmond were renowned for before they began experimenting with unconventional time signatures.
