One can't help but appreciate Basement Jaxx's "everything but the kitchen sink" approach on Kish Kash: they continue their trend of mixing a wide array of musical styles together, serving up whatever concoction results. Here, Arabic horns collide with rap on “Lucky Star”; Southern gospel roots bump into funky house on “Supersonic.” As with their previous album, the fusion isn't always seamless; there are a few bumps (like “Living Room”) along the way. Their punk rock spirit is more evident than ever on Kish Kash: “Cish Cash,” featuring Siouxsie Sioux on vocals, is a genre unto itself: house-thrash. Even when they don't quite hit the mark with every track, Basement Jaxx remains captivating, which is more than can be said for most mainstream house acts.
awesome album, that even with a grammy win, didnt seem to sell that well?
👊⭐️🙌In my opinion, Dizzee's got one of the banging grime tunes on this album! Lucky Star ⭐️
