Incredible album! A true highlight in Mike Oldfield's musical journey. The quality and appearance of this pressing are also top-notch.
As for the sound quality, I must say this is an excellent pressing. Not a single crackle or pop across all four sides. I didn't even catch that glitch everyone's talking about on side four. The clear vinyl looks absolutely stunning. Highly recommended!
Today, I grabbed a copy of this incredible-sounding German 2xLP from a fantastic record shop in Novato, CA. It included the poster mentioned earlier, but there was also a surprise tucked inside one of the sleeves, seemingly since it left the factory: a 45rpm Virgin single by Julie Covington on coral vinyl. The A-side features "Only Women Bleed," with "Easy to Slip" on the B-side. Maybe Virgin was "slipping" these in as a promo, or perhaps just trying to offload them. (They likely didn't sell well, given the ridiculously lurid song titles.) Virgin VS 196, © 1977, produced by Joe Boyd & John Wood. No markings in the runouts.
I gotta say, this one's a bit divisive but I'm all in. Plus, the pressing is super clean, sounds awesome.
I'm really digging this one, even though it's kinda divisive. Plus, the sound quality is top-notch, super clean!
