Alright, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. We're talking about 1978, a couple of years before 'Fresh Fruit' dropped, and just a year before their first single hit the scene. Chances are, there wasn't any pro-level recordings floating around back then, so this is what we've got. Judging by the back cover, it might've even been taped on a cassette. But if you're after that crisp, high-fidelity sound, buddy, you're out of luck.
This must be the earliest official release of these songs. Maybe it's from 6025's personal cassette. Love that messed-up part in Rawhide! LOL The sound quality is pretty rough, but the inclusion of Cold Fish and a few other rare tracks, plus the early versions of the 'hit' songs, make it interesting to listen to, even if just once. Jello's vocals aren't as pronounced as they would become. Ted's drumming, especially on 'California', is a bit loose, but you can tell the songs are starting to come together.
