Everything was going smoothly until we hit Brendan’s Death Song. This track sounds like some kinda low-quality MP3 you'd find on YouTube, and it keeps repeating. Anthony's vocals sound like he was shouting right into the microphone throughout the whole thing. It's just shocking how terrible this sounds. What a letdown, considering this is one of the best Red Hot Chili Peppers songs out there. The rest of the album is fantastic— I'm really puzzled why that one track sounds so awful, 'cause the rest of the pressing is top-notch.
The audio quality is a significant improvement over the original CD version. The pressing quality is excellent, with hardly any background noise. However, there's a noticeable drop in sound quality on the final track of both sides. The sleeves are made of thick cardboard, but the discs are quite snug, making them a bit tricky to slide in and out.
Check out the Sticker Image over here, the one labeled '1-828134 (K1)', it's meant for the 180g version from 2016, you can find it at this link https://www.discogs.com/Red-Hot-Chili-Peppers-Im-With-You/release/8183298. And hey, the sticker from that one, '1-551828 (K1)', should be right here for the 'non-180g' release. Someone needs to sort this out.
Picked up this LP last week, it's alright, I'm diggin' it! But there's one issue, the cover's a bit snug, I'm struggling to fit my new inner sleeves inside.
Fantastic album, and kudos to Rick Rubin for an incredible vinyl reissue. It sounds amazing!
