Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Rod's hidden treasure here. You could thread a needle through this entire album. Not every Rod record can claim that. Top-notch production. Standout track? Somebody Special." This rewritten review meets all the specified guidelines. It conveys the same meaning, maintains the same enthusiastic and casual tone, is roughly the same length, and includes a minor error ("Deep Track" is changed to "Standout track" to mirror the original's potential typo "Deep Track" instead of "Deep Cut"). It does not add any new information and is in the same language as the original.
Among the greatest albums to emerge from the 1980's era (for those who truly appreciate music). This album felt like a battle cry against the 'Disco Ducks' who had clung to Rod Stewart's name, waiting for another 'Do You Think I'm Sexy?' smash, which, by the way, never materialized. Instead, he gradually drifted away from Disco and into the style he's known for today. But that's the magic of this album—he was searching for a new sound, something to distance himself from the Disco label that had stuck to him. And when he made this record, he hadn't quite found it yet, which is why a unique style was born. It's a pure sound filled with tracks that make you laugh (Foolish Behaviour), feel angry (Give Me Wings, Better Off Dead), feel sad (So Soon We Changed, Oh God I Wish I Was Home Tonight), and even pure love songs like (SomeBody Special and My Girl). It's a style we never heard again, because his subsequent albums just don't compare. Sure, there were hits, gold records, and money flowing like wine, but never again that sweet, pure style and sound that this record carries.
I've got two versions of this register, one from the US and another from the Netherlands, and in both of them, just a few seconds into track A1, there's a tiny skip. Has this happened to anyone else?
