Give it a thorough cleaning. I mean, really scrub it down. I started with a dry brush, then did a deep clean with a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water, and finished off with a pure distilled water rinse. This vinyl was LOUD as hell! But after all that hard work, the sound quality is impressively rich and dynamic. Sure, there are still a few pops and clicks, but I'm genuinely happy I gave this edition a shot. I'll join the chorus of others who are bummed there are no lyrics or liner notes included. Musically, this album is a slow burn, revealing more with each listen, and it truly rewards the kind of focused attention that vinyl listening often provides. Grab it while you can, the reviews are mostly glowing now, but I believe this album will only gain more appreciation over time.
Grabbed this on the day it came out, but it's a bit of a letdown. The records were quite grimy, with what seems like grease all over them. After cleaning all four, there are still some lasting marks on the surface. I'm still getting pops and clicks, especially on the first side of Act 1, but they're scattered throughout. The album itself is pretty good, I'm happy with the tracks and the sound quality. It's just a shame it was so filthy and that I'm stuck with these marks from the pressing process.
Vinyl records here, happily surprised by the quality. Excellent audio.
I must say, I'm genuinely amazed at how incredibly well crafted this box set is. The album itself is identical to the store-bought version, featuring top-notch photos and artwork adorning the inside of the sleeve. The vinyl records sound fantastic, and I've noticed that the music has so much more space to resonate here compared to its digital counterpart, allowing every sound to truly stand out. The story/lyric book is also top-tier. It includes story summaries for all 33 tracks and lyrics, ensuring that every listener can fully immerse themselves in and appreciate the music. Lastly, the 5 bonus singles (including songs from the yet-to-be-released Shiny Vol 3 album Zodion at Crystal Hall and some B-sides) are absolutely fantastic. The music on these singles has a completely distinct vibe and sound, and the artwork for each single is uniquely designed and visually stunning.
The box is top-notch but not the handiest thing I've come across. As for the sound, it's kinda in the middle, not completely silent but not super loud either, pops up sometimes. Honestly, I'm not sure how to score it...
