It's mad that this still costs a fortune when it's got the same mastering as the CD
This record feels like it has a soul of its own. A friend's older sibling grabbed it when it first came out during a trip to London. They let me borrow it when they were back in the US. It resonated with me right away, but I didn't truly grasp or appreciate it until a few years down the line. This album has been a staple in my collection for ages. It's just a standard-bearer for psychedelic rock and a personal trip down memory lane... Absolutely one of my all-time faves. Kudos!
Fantastic new release! The sound quality is superb, with a lot of dynamism and detail. I'm thrilled to include this in my collection.
Fantastic new album. It sounds amazing, with a lot of energy and intricacies. Really pleased to include this in my collection.
This release is decent, but it's got that same loud remastering you'll find on the new remastered CD. Although these LPs probably came from a 24-bit master (maybe even 96kHz), since the mastering's the same, your ears won't notice much difference. I've owned an original pressing for ages and I reckon it sounds better than the new CD and LP. That said, I think the original CD sounds pretty much the same as the original LP, likely cut from the same master too. I wouldn't suggest spending big bucks on the original LP, I'd just stick with the original CD. If you're set on having this on vinyl because you care more about the format than the sound, at least Optimal did a fantastic job on the pressing (as they usually do) and you won't have to drop over US$200 to get a mint copy.
